Space, Time and Space-time: Substantivalism and Relationism

Abstract Space and time, do they really exist or do they represent only some relations between material bodies? These are the questions appearing in the famous Clarke – Leibniz correspondence, where Clark represented Newton’s positions. Although this dispute had its revival with Mach and Einstein, and again in the end of the XX century, it does not have a definitive answer. Is it a physical or philosophical problem?
