The emergence of semantic information
Anne-Marie Grisogono
How can semantic information arise in a pre-biotic universe? New ideas in origin of life research point to deep connections between the roles of information in life, the robustness of life, optimal error correction in information theory and statistical inferencing, and the physics of phase transitions and non-equilibrium steady states. I will sketch out some ideas, but pose more questions than answers.
